Plus it actually would have made the email scene less jarring as that would have been creating a passage of time during which Superman is failing to find his mother using his senses. Seeing him standing trying to search for her would have explained why he needed to ask Batman for help and also why he was so distraught looking when he talks to Lois. Snyder says they cut it for tone which is fine except it was more important for function.
It's like cutting out the Clark searching for Martha scene. Of all the cuts this is one I just simply cannot get my head around. I mean when you watch it you can even see where it was originally supposed to fit into the scene. Taking out the "obeys only me line" removed a key dramatic impact from the scene. Really because the impact of those links is thematic rather than dramatic. Just thrashing it about a bit is all)īut I don't think having both would have made the fists and abominations parrell lose any impact.
